\Ferrari SP12 EC

Everyone has dreams and every boy from a young age dreams of one day owning a Ferrari. The supercar - Ferrari - is not only an eye-catching piece of transport but the price is mind boggling as well!

For most people, owning a Ferrari is a dream come true; but if you're Eric Clapton, having a Ferrari made uniquely for you is a dream made to reality. In fact, Eric Clapton helped to design this one-off limited edition motoring supercar.

Developed from the Ferrari 457 Italia, Eric Clapton’s unique Ferrari collaborates with Pininfarina and Ferrari’s engineers to create the iconic Ferrari SP12 EC. Noticeably to the SP12 EC are the initials ’SP’ standing for ‘Special Edition’ and ‘EC' which is his signature stamp on the car from his initials of his name. It is known that the SP12 EC is based around Clapton’s favourite Ferrari, the 1970’s 512BB, and Clapton himself has purchased several 512BBs over the years.

Not only is the Ferrari 512BB his favourable car, he was almost killed in a car accident whilst driving a Ferrari 512BB, so it is understandable that the SP12 EC is important and close to his heart. The main characteristics found in both cars are the classic styling of the hand-built body, large air intake at the front of the car, grey slats on the front boot lid and the classic and most iconic two-tone red and black paint colour scheme.

Not only is Eric Clapton a legendary musician, but he now has a legendary supercar with design credentials to his name as well as hit records.
